The Basic Calculation Trace report is produced by UBmatrix Processing Engine to illustrate whether the numbers provided in the XBRL instance document can be mathematically traced up the calculation tree defined in the taxonomy. For example, if the reported value of Current Assets doesn't mathematically equal the sum of current assets reported in the document, this report will highlight Current Assets value in red and display the value it was expecting.

Common reasons for calculation trace errors include: incorrect mappings, rounding errors, a difference in how a sign (+/-) is reported, or an incorrect roll-up defined in the extension taxonomy (in the calculation linkbase).
