Software Developer in Test (SDET)
Responsible for detailed and meticulous, “automated” and "hands-on" testing of complex software, written primarily in Java. Evaluate and analyze business and technical requirements. Design quality assurance procedures, test harnesses, test plans, test case suites as needed to assure the quality of new and existing software based on the specified requirements.
Act as the advocate for, and participate in the design, development, execution and maintenance of test procedures, often serving as the lead individual contributor. Assist in trouble-shooting, documenting software product enhancements and defects during testing.
Evaluate new products and processes to continuously improve the reliability of company software, and to increase the productivity of quality assurance functions. Help define and implement quality metrics and systems monitoring capabilities. A professional demeanor is essential, as direct interaction with customers, vendors and systems integrators is to be expected.
This position is located in Bellevue, WA.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal/written English communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and desire for quality.
- Bachelors degree in mathematics or computer science
- Experience with design and execution of test plans & cases.
- Experience programming in Java or C# (primarily Java).
- Experience with Junit, Nunit test framework
- Experience with testing API’s.
- Working knowledge with testing on Windows, Unix, Linux.
- Familiarity with automated test tools, or creating test harnesses.
- Familiarity with XML technologies (XML, XSD schemas, XSLT, XQuery).
- Experience testing software in a fast-paced environment where rapid turn-around of test results is critical.
- Knowledge of formal development methodologies, such as SCRUM.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office product suite.
- Understanding of factors which affect software quality and performance.
- Familiarity with (Oracle, IBM) database technologies.
- Experience with version control tools.
- Familarility with VMware, Ghost
- Familarility with scripting languages
- Experience with source control software (such as SVN).
- Knowledge of software “localization” and “internationalization”.
